The Power of YouTube and Social Media

According to YouTube.com, the website sees four billion video views globally every day with 1 hours worth of video uploaded every second. It is farfetched to think that such a simple concept of sharing opinions and views via an online video database, would be the second largest search engine in the world right after Google.

Based on the overwhelming size of the YouTube database, it would be senseless not to use this media channel as a brand building, brand strengthening and value distribution system. However, before diving straight into the abyss that is social media, it is absolutely essential to strategise and consolidate a group of core messages and values that you want customers/ potential customers to regularly assoicate with your brand. At PowerLink we have designed a four point check list to determine whether or not a message to be distributed through this channel will satisfy our ideal branding strategy and market position.

1. Does the message reflect our companies mission statement?
2. Does the message educate the core values of the product and brand?
3. Will this message strengthen the current brand message or possibly shape and change it? If so, to what extent will it be shaped and changed, and is this ideal?
4. Will this message create value?

Asking these four questions helps us to understand whether the content we are issuing to our market, is valuable to them as a consumer/client and/or does the collateral add value to our business.

Below you can find the link to PowerLink's YouTube channel which shows a series of videos that have been scrutinised under these 4 check list points, as well as thoroughly analysed on the value to PowerLink and customers.

PowerLink: Your illumination partner in Mining

In May 2012, Powerlink unveiled the ALT15000A lighting tower, one of its most innovative products to reach the Australian market. Eagerly anticipated by potential distributors, the launch of this new product strengthened the cavalry of mining spec products, including diesel generators and air compressors, which are manufactured under the Powerlink brand. Customers will be able to experience this new product first-hand at the GME WA Exhibition, October 30th-November 1st 2012, in which Powerlink will be one of the major participants.

The 8000W metal halide light, powered by a 12kW prime rating Kubota engine, can provide enough brightness with little energy, thus one of the most economic ways to convert electrical energy into light. In comparison to other lighting towers on the market, the ALT15000A Powerlink lighting tower is the closest you can get to natural light, amplifying why it is widely used in a range of international commercial and industrial markets.

The superior performance of the lighting tower ensures stable and reliable lighting for any mining site. It meets all occupational health and safety standards and ISO9001 international quality standards. As an added feature, the ALT15000A is equipped with an audible warning system, which is activated when the mast is being raised or lowered. This ensures the safety of all operators and nearby workers.

This new addition comes in a compact structure that is easy to move between sites. The ALT15000A lighting tower consists of a diesel generator set, group of hydraulic masts, lighting kit and trailer. The Hydraulics mast reaches 11.19 metres, with high wind resistance performance, and can rotate a full 360˚, allowing lighting in all directions. Featuring a large access door for convenient maintenance and a large fuel tank for timely use, this lighting tower is designed for the most efficient mining and commercial sites.

All Powerlink machines allow for customization to reach industry specification or individual job needs.
