Value

What does value mean? Who determines the value of something? How do we measure value if everyones opinion of what is valuable is different? How do you generate more value? Why don't businesses understand the meaning of value?

Value, in definition, refers to an individuals importance put on a particular something ultimately determining its final worth to that person. So why is this so important to consider when generating an idea or developing a product for a wide buying community?

Particularly in the power generation industry there is much debate on whether to attack 'value' from a holistic stand point or do we focus on developing products that are easily customised. Is it better to improve the standardised model of a product to increase the perceived overall value of the product or do we let people pick and choose what added features they want?

Powerlink Generator Sets attempt to maintain a uniformed balance of value for their clients by offering standardised products with a low cost to high usage value ratio. On top of that, accessories, extended product lines and spare parts are offered to maximise the efficiency of generator products for individual usage.

So maybe we have to find that balance between standardisation and customisation. People who buy our products need to know that other customers value the product first, however the highest source of value is going to come from customers purchasing a product they want and need at a price that is considered good across what is individually offered to them.

Powerlink: Sustainability

In these more turbulent economic times, you may be asking yourself; what is the secret to ensuring the longevity of my business and its future success? How does one ensure that their business will weather the storm of a potential second financial recession and come out to emerge as a stronger, more valuable business entity?

The answer is sustainable businesses practices.

PowerLink Machine, a world leading manufacturer of diesel generators, air compressors and lighting towers, understands the importance of executing activities that ensure sustainable growth within their market. As an approach to prolonged growth PowerLink identifies that there are three areas that lead to sustainability; sustainable development, innovation and environmental development.

Sustainable development

Sustainable development is part of PowerLink's day to day routine and an important condition for long-term profitability and achieving the interests of customers and dealers. “The idea is to focus on providing solutions that benefit society, just as much as they benefit the company”. [Christopher Dyce 2012, Marketing Co-Ordinator PowerLink Machine Australia] Sustainable development comes in the form of problem resolution. Powerlink does not just provide add-ons to increase the cost of each unit, they understand the dynamics of customer life time value, and manufacture appropriately to satisfy current clients. This emphasises the principle that the best form of advertising is referral through word-of-mouth. Keep your current customers happy and they will be your best marketing tool.

Innovation

Powerlink relies on continuous innovation for sustainable growth. This comes in the form of new product development, supply chain management and investment in productivity research. Continuous growth in the range of products enables customs to select the exact products they require. It is essential to deliver customers exactly what they expect, plus a little bit more, ensuring continuous positive feedback. This does not only have to apply to the physical product, but may also include after sales support and customer service.

Environmental development

PowerLink constantly develops products in attempt to lower energy consumption, and provide pollution-free products, ultimately reducing the impact on the environment.

Also very important to consider are ways in which your company can reduce its impact on the environment. Businesses need to understand that in order to minimise wastage, provide customers with a clean and efficient product and prologue profitability, they must continue to think about green options. Continue to think about brand reputation, moderate, not rapid, growth, and overtime profitability with continuously be growing.

Cyclonic weather calls for Back-up

"Cyclonic weather conditions in Western Australia calls for Back-up Generators"
Powerlink Generators weathering the storm

Cyclonic weather conditions over the weekend have sent Western Australia’s main power supply into a shambles. At the peak of this erratic weather, 170,000 households and businesses were left without power in both Perth and the southwest of the state. There are still over 100, 000 homes without power in the southern half of Western Australia

Many residential homes, properties and businesses still remain without power, whilst several have been reliant on back-up power systems since Sunday. With 100’s of Powerlink generators in operation throughout Western Australia, many work sites, businesses and residential properties have been able to continue with regular day-to-day routines undisturbed. Western Australians are being urged to prepare for further damage and further blackouts with more extreme weather forecast for the coming weeks.

According to a report by Oxfam, the natural disaster rate has increased by 400% over the past two decades; from around 120 per year, to over 500 natural disasters being recorded each year. This poses the question whether we are actually gambling our money by preparing for extreme weather conditions, or are we simply analysing the given data and making logical and financially secure choices to prepare for a lifetime of inevitable harsh weather conditions. We insure our businesses and homes against damages, so why shouldn’t we insure our businesses against loss of productivity, or our homes against loss of lifestyle and home operations.

As a home or business owner, an emergency standby generator provides a safety net for continuous operations and uninterrupted routines. Powerlink Machines (AUST) provides a range of highly efficient and high performance diesel generators to act as either main or back-up power supply for any type of operations. Whether it be used for a black-out or highly intense workloads, a Powerlink generator set allow businesses and homes to maintain productivity 24/7 without interruptions. Powerlink diesel generator sets range between 5.5-2250 kVA, suitable for any form of use. Over 60,000 Powerlink generator sets and other machineries are providing efficient, cost effective power worldwide. Hence you can understand why Powerlink products are fast becoming the number one choice for commercial industries and home residences.
